Dear San Saba Friends and Relatives,
This newsletter is from the San Saba Cemetery Association. We would like to update you on some upcoming changes and additions we would like to consider making to the city cemetery.
Some sections of the fence have been damaged and will be replaced and both the north and south roads will be filled in due to pot holes.
We have been considering constructing a pavilion at the cemetery in order to have a nice place for services that will allow for comfort and shelter from the elements.
Several surrounding communities have already built pavilions. Below you will see examples of pavilions that we have considered.
In the first picture you will see an open pavilion located at Democrat Community, TX. The second is located in Richland Springs, TX and has roll down window covers. The third picture is of the pavilion in the Fredricksburg Cemetery and is semi-open. All are beautiful. We would like to add electricity for a PA system and ceiling fans and would like to construct restrooms on the cemetery grounds.
We are considering purchasing land to expand the cemetery as we are starting to fill up at the cemetery except on the north side where it is subject to flooding. As of this date, we have not found any land to purchase.
We would like to ask for input from all family and friends interested in helping with this project whether it be ideas, labor, supplies or monetary donations in the form of memorials, etc. No construction will begin until we have the total amount needed for construction in hand.
